Local Partnerships

Rockdale Elementary has a rich exchange and active partnerships with many of our Eagle Rock neighborhood organizations.

Our community includes:

orange-star.gif A partnership with Occidental College  provides student teachers and tutors who assist in our classrooms as a part of their training. For more information visit oxy.edu.

orange-star.gif Student volunteers from Eagle Rock High School assist Rockdale teachers in our classrooms and provide valuable tutoring.

orange-star.gif The Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock (CFAER) provides free after-school courses in visual art and dance taught by local artists and dancers. For more information visit centerartseaglerock.org.

orange-star.gif Koreh L.A. is a literacy program organized by the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, and has placed over 10,000 volunteers as reading partners for over 22,000 LAUSD Students. Trained Koreh L.A. volunteers work one-on-one with identified K-5 students to improve reading skills and foster a love of reading. For more information visit jewishla.org/koreh-la.

orange-star.gif Water Buffalo Club is a charity group based on the west side of Los Angeles that provides financial support to students in need. In the past, Water Buffalo Club has supported Rockdale Saturday field trips to reward students and provide books and school supplies to students.
