Partnerships
Inner City Arts

Since 2017, Rockdale has been fortunate enough to partner with Inner City Arts. Inner-City Arts provides Professional Development training in the arts for classroom teachers, school administrators, teaching artists, and members of our Los Angeles community. In addition to Professional Development for teachers, Inner City Arts  has provided classes in ceramics, drama, music, and visual arts for our students.

At Inner-City Arts, presenters are intentional about integrating Social and Emotional Learning to support the development of students as individuals and how they see themselves and others in the world. Their vision ties in beautifully with ours here at Rockdale.

Garden School Foundation

The Rockdale Edible Garden was built in 2005 by the school, community, and Master Gardeners, Eileen Hatrick and Anne Elder.  Garden School Foundation has been partnering with Rockdale since Fall 2013 to bring in-depth programming to their flourishing garden.

The Garden School Foundation provides in-depth garden-based education to Los Angeles youth, strengthening connections between education, food justice, environmental awareness, and healthy communities. By using the full transformative potential of school gardens as teaching sites, we nurture a healthy and mindful generation of children that care for their bodies, their communities, and the earth. We currently serve seven Title I elementary schools, reaching over 3,000 students and their families each year. For more information, please visit www.gardenschoolfoundation.org.
