Edible Garden

In our Edible Garden, students create and maintain an organic vegetable garden under the guidance of a trained Master Gardener. All ages participate in our curriculum that includes planning, planting, harvesting, and composting.

It's a great way to learn about the food we eat.

A special thank you to our Master Gardeners, Eileen Hatrick and Anne Elder!

Rockdale Visual & Performing Arts Magnet received a $1,000 grant from Action for Healthy Kids. The Vision of the Healthy Schools grant is "Every kid healthy, active and ready to learn."  We want to include our entire community in this effort.  Students provided parents with "tastings" of sorrel, kale, radishes, and turnips from our garden at our first Tasting Event held on December 16th.  It was a deliciously successfully event!

Thank you to all our community, parent and student volunteers who help keep to maintain our gardens.
